End of surgery day # 2: Wow what a whirlwind day. Completed31 cases (10 in the OR and 21 minor cases). Starting cases yesterday proved to be formidable but ultimately immensely rewarding.no working EKG? No problem, we used the tracing from one of the defribrillator machines. Non-working pulse ox? Piece of cake, we found a portable one to borrow. No ventilator? No problem, Megan and Andrew helped me bag the paralyzed patient while I used their presence as an opportunity to lecture them on all things anesthesiasmiley. Can't speak the language of my patients? No problem, the wonderful nurses at Dr Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital went out of their way to translate for me whenever i needed them. 95 degrees in the shade ( and in the wards)? No problem, the ORs were air conditioned and both the doctors and the patients were always quite comfortable. I'll check back with you all in a few days with another great update.

Yeah, that great electricity fried one of our monitors and the bovie machine. No complaints, though. Glad to have it.
