ISHI Blog
Today was awesome!!! We started off with a lot to do and had some obstacles...but we prevailed! We did 25 minor cases and 9 major cases today. Although it was a long day, it truly was gratifying to help patients that are too poor to see doctors on a regular basis and instead, unfortunately, only have consistent care through mission trips..I performed a thyroidectomy, a parotid cystectomy, and an open cholecystectomy. Seven years of General Surgery training has allowed me to really reap the benefits of the operative experience that ISHI has provided; more importantly I really see how these surgeries and small procedures make a real difference as evidenced by the gratefulness of the patients and their smiles!
