This is my first time volunteering for ISHI Global. Having never been exposed to the operating room prior to this mission, the OR team was very generous in teaching me and allowing me to assist them on cases during the week. One particular instance that stands out in my mind is when the team had allowed me to scrub with them on an open cholecystectomy case to help with lighting during surgery. I am grateful to have volunteered with so many friendly and knowlegeable staff that were willing to teach, and would highly recommend anyone to volunteer with ISHI on future missions.
