Dr. Harold Schell, one of the surgeon volunteers on ISHI’s 2014 mission to Ghana, gave a keynote speech to a combined meeting of the ISHI Club and Ben Rush Historical Society at Rutgers NJMS. Dr. Schell reflected on global missions from WWII to present, explaining that, “Today’s global surgical burden comes with an expectation that the team comes fully equipped…” ISHI strives to bring together willing volunteers and the necessary equipment to proved safe, free surgery around the world.
